So the next time one of your relatives asks you what you’ve learned over the summer, you can pull out a tablet and write some python code as a neat party trick. This will also immediately label you as a tech-person of the family, so take that advice with a grain of salt.

Offer: For Businesses to create their Company Website
After testing various ways of creating a website, for SMEs, we are finally able to provide Web Design Service for Business as a fundamental solution or a starting point for SMEs to give life to their business in the digital world. Among many things we have put into consideration, let us highlight the following:
- Creating a website for business should be affordable. ( let’s try to keep it below SGD 1000/- ).
- It should be profitable for the website designers/ developers, just enough to sustain their business.
- The site should be ready to launch within 14 working days, max.
- Easy update of content on the site. The process should be friendly enough, that anyone who knows how to use a computer to send and receive email should be able to update/ edit the content of the site. Update includes text and media files.
- The site should not take too much server resources when it comes to hosting the website. i.e. a shared hosting service ( or probably the cheapest hosting service) should be able to accommodate the site.
- A web designer/ developer should be able to change the look and feel of the site (as web design trend changes) for a small fee of not more than SGD 100/-.
- Security updates must be available as they come necessary to keep the site secure.
Website Design and Organising of Content
The website design and organising of content on the site will depend on the creativity and experience of the designer/ developer of the site. They should be able to guide the company in right direction to prepare the content for the site. Most of the SMEs won’t have a clue what the current trend is and what is expected on a website by their target audiences.
The site needs to be designed that is friendly and acceptable by the right audiences. Not necessarily the way the business owner(s) intend how the site’s look and feel should be. At the same time keeping it consistent with the brand and what the company/ business portray.
If you cant find a professional solution for you business website for less than SGD 1000/-, Try our offer. Get a Website for your Business for SGD 960/- or Less!
Understanding .com , .net , .org , .sg , .co.uk , . . . etc. in a Domain Name.
Notice, when you identified a domain name, the last few characters at the very end of a domain name.
These final component of a domain name, or domain name endings are called TLD (top-level domain). So lets refer to those last parts of a domain name as TLD, from now on.
Let’s try identifying this thing called TLD, in the domain names we discussed on the previous post (What is a Domain name?).
- gmail.com – here TLD is .com
- outlook.com – here TLD is .com
- london.ac.uk – here TLD is .uk ( let’s not get diverted in to what .ac is about, at least for now!)
- icrc.org – here TLD is .org
I suppose, you could identify the TLD in “iluvsg.com”, by now.
Now you know that, there are 3 different TLDs. Well, that’s not all. There are lot of TLDs available now. We will list out all available TLDs in another post. At least, you should be able to identify the TLD when you see a domain name. When you want to buy/take ( i.e. register ) a domain name for your personal use or for your business, you will need to decide which TLD, you want to use.
What is a Domain name?
Easiest way, possibly, to understand a domain name is to have a look at your email address. Let’s see some examples of email address:
Example 1: [email protected]
You notice the “gmail.com” that comes after the ‘@’ symbol? That’s a domain name. i.e. “gmail.com” is a domain name.
Example 2: [email protected].
Here, “outlook.com” is what comes after the “@” symbol. So, “outlook.com” is a domain name.
Example 3: [email protected]
Here, “london.ac.uk” is a domain name.
Example 4: [email protected].
I suppose, you could already identify the domain name from the above email address.
If you want to have an online presence, first thing you need to do is to get a domain name. How to get a domain name or where to get one, we will get into that on another post. Hope, by now, you have a better understanding on what a domain name is.
Which one is better; a native Arab teacher or a local teacher who learnt Arabic and became a teacher?

Following is a loose translation.
Both have their own role and specialty.
Surely an Arab professional is competent in their language. It would be wonderful, if one had the experience of teaching the language. An Arab professional teacher would be able to assist you to understand the reading materials correctly and support you during conversation. You will also experience listening to good and contemporary language usage.
On the other hand, a non-native teacher who learnt Arabic will be able to empathize with your learning and know what you are thinking and the challenges you are facing during your study.
Hence, he can help you overcome your learning difficulties by explaining to you the language forms in a way that is close to your language. He can assist you in a way a native teacher may not be able to do. In a way, both teachers complement each other and not conflicting.
To sum up this note, a student may want to check the following conditions about the teacher:
- Is the teacher a native speaker? If not, does he/ she speak the language well?
- Is the teacher specialized in the language? Did he/ she study the language as an academic study in an educational institution?
- Does the teacher have knowledge of teaching Arabic as a foreign language?
If the teacher fulfills these conditions, then he is competent to teach.
I am from non-Arab country, is it better for me to learn Arabic language in my country or in an Arab country?

Following is a loose translation.
Of course, learning Arabic through its native speakers is the preferred way, but this requires time, money, and patience. Being away from one’s homeland, the travel expenses and the difficulty in choosing a good place for studying Arabic, because not all institutes in an Arab country are good. If you are not able to study in an Arab country, there will be other country that provide Arabic learning. Find a professional organization in your country that you are aware of its good reputation in this field. However, if your situation allows you to travel to an Arab country, do so.

First and foremost, you need to know that there is a formal Arabic language, which is used in the formal writing, newspapers, books, formal speeches, newscasts, and religious activities. This kind of language is the normal and common type of language that is used among the Arab nations that enable you to communicate with all the Arab nations. Bearing in mind that there exist minor differences in different countries, which you will get hang of it in a few days.
